About The Teacher

Howdy! I am a proud part of the Fightin' Texas Aggie class of 2001. I
graduated in May of 2002 with a Bachelor's in Journalism and my Texas
Educators Certificate in English, Journalism, and Speech Communications and
an ESL supplemental certification.
My parents moved our family to Houston in 1983 where I started school at
Moore Elementary. I attended Matzke Intermediate, Bleyel Junior High and
graduated in 1997 from Cy-Creek High School. This year will be my 13th
year teaching, and 11th year at Willow Wood Junior High.
I am married and do have one daughter and one son.
I am so looking forward to a wonderful year with all of my students, and I
can't wait to meet and get to know all of you!

Class Mission

English students will be prepared to excell in 8th and 9th grade
English. Students will learn to write effectively, communicate ideas clearly,
work successfully in groups and individually. Students will learn how to
analyze literature and will be able to not only identify, but also use
literary devices in their writing.
Students will be prepared to take the STARR test in March and will be able
to use many skills we learn in English this year in life beyond school.
I look forward to teaching this year!

Speech students will be earning high school credit upon completion of the
class. We will have many opportunities to become comfortable speaking in
front of a group of peers.
